2017 Oliver LEII “Casablanca”, Hull #226 For Sale
Some of our travels have included two Oliver Owner’s Rallies, a scuba diving trip to Rocky Point in Old Mexico, several excursions up and down the spine of the Rockies, winters in Quartzsite, AZ and visiting over a dozen national parks. We are interested in selling our Oliver and passing it along for someone looking for a “turnkey” lightly used Oliver.
This Oliver is a twin bed layout with custom made mattresses and vapor barriers and comes equipped with the standard 2” Bulldog coupler (7500lb-rated) and Andersen hitch, Outdoor Shower, 340 Watts of roof-mounted solar modules through a new Victron Solar Charge Controller, 2000 Watt inverter, onboard surge protector, microwave oven, Dometic 3-way fridge, Suburban forced air heat, Dometic AC with heat strip (Heat and AC controlled with a new MicroAir Easy Touch Screen thermostat), conventional toilet, 2-burner gas cooktop, forward and rear LPG quick connect valves, 125-lb rated 2” factory hitch for either a bike rack or cargo carrier, wireless back-up camera kit, and a cellular booster. Casablanca is also equipped with a digital backup camera, cellular amplifier, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The 16” Cooper tires are 3 years old with exceptional tread remaining. The three electric leveling jacks are fully serviced and operate perfectly. We have always stored Casablanca in a climate-controlled bay on our property and has never been smoked in. We’ve waxed and buffed the Gelcoat twice annually to keep it factory fresh. The dry/empty weight of the trailer is 4800lbs while the max tow weight fully loaded is 7000lbs.
We’ve made significant modifications and upgrades to our rig making our style of off-grid boondocking effortless and safe. Although we stay connected via Starlink, we still enjoy the wonders of the “less than beaten path” of distributed camping on BLM land, USFS campgrounds, or even high-end RV resorts.
A summary of upgrades and modifications include the following items:
1. Removed/Replaced the stained original white window seals with new black seals – these are what Oliver now uses as OEM
2. Installed an interior screen door handle – makes it easier to close both the main door and screen door at the same time
3. Installed safety straps for kitchen drawers – keeps drawers from opening on rough terrain
4. R/R’d original “capped” wheel lug nuts with higher quality solid stainless steel nuts
5. Installed Lippert “friction hinges” on main door – keeps from slamming open or closed in windy conditions
6. R/R’d original awning with new Fiamma F45 awning in 2024
6.1 Installed custom outdoor carpet on entry steps – better traction and easier to clean
7. Installed a new Blue Seas Master Battery ON/OFF switch at battery bank – keeps state of charge (SOC) in bank longer by eliminating phantom current draw in storage mode
8. Installed digital RV Lock on main door for easier access – works with or without a key. Two complete sets of keys for all locks provided.
9. R/R’d original “curly safety cables” with 24k-lb. rated safety chains for hitch
10. Upgrade LPG tanks from original 20-lb to 30-lb tanks and installed a new LPG regulator and hoses
11. Installed Mopeka sensors on LPG tanks and interior Mopeka tank level indicator – readout also available on cell phone via Mopeka app
12. R/R’d exterior curtesy light seals – new version doesn’t leave black streaks on gelcoat
13. Installed lockable aluminum cargo box on A-Frame – houses exterior set up equipment, electrical cable, chocks, levelers, etc.
14. R/R’d original bathroom fan to a MaxxAir fan with integrated LED – provides better lighting in shower in low light conditions
15. R/R’d original MaxxAir ceiling fan with a new model with remote control
16. Installed Valterra airflow registers between bathroom and streetside basement and under vanity to closet – allows better airflow in bathroom and closet during high/low temperature conditions
17. R/R’d original water pump with new ShureFlow pump
18. Installed ShureFlo accumulator tank – allows flow for a few seconds without water pump activation
19. Installed dedicated marine-grade hot/cold shower valve and shower head
20. Installed deck hatch on vanity and shelves under vanity to store bathroom supplies – the extra storage is a game changer
21. Added two layers of insulation under vanity
22. Designed and installed additional shelving in closet for better organized storage options
23. R/R’d original Dometic thermostat with MicroAir Easy Touch Screen thermostat – makes it easier to control AC/Heat (both heat strip and forced air) with touch screen or mobile app
24. Installed a MicroAir Easy-Start on Dometic AC unit – allows AC operations with our Honda EU2000i genset when boondocking in hot weather
25. Installed the Level Mate Pro leveling kit – makes leveling the rig easy via mobile app
26. Designed and made an oak table for a streetside-mounted “Lagun Table” hardware which can be lowered on to the twin bed rails converting to a double bed
27. R/R’d original Deep Cycle Lead Acid batteries with 3 Battle Born LiFePO batteries supplying 300Amp-hrs of 12vDC storage capacity
28. R/R’d the original Zamp PWM solar charge controller with a Victron 30Amp MPPT solar controller
29. Installed a Victron Cerbo GX 7” touch screen electrical systems monitor. This was installed in the opening where the Zamp controller was mounted
30. Installed dedicated a Victron solar module status readout next to the Cerbo GX – gives solar output status at a quick glance
31. Installed a Victron 30Amp 12vDC to 12vDC charger – allows tow vehicle alternator to charge battery bank while under tow. Fully charges a 50% SOC bank after 4 hours of towing. It should be noted that each of the Victron units are “Smart systems” and can be monitored remotely with the Victron app, especially handy when towing
32. For the lucky new owner, we are including a fully installed Starlink System. This makes for easy movie streaming and provides a lightning-fast Wifi bubble. It includes a power conversion kit that will allow the system to fully operate on the much more efficient 12v DC rather than having to turn on the inverter to provide120v AC
33. Installed 12vDC Wifi “nanny cam” – great for monitoring the interior when away
34. Upgraded original Chinese-made 1,750lb axle leaf springs with USA-made 2,750lb Alcan springs and new shock absorbers. Over the years, many owners have reported broken OEM springs. Some owners carry an extra leaf spring should one break and others have elected to upgrade the suspension with higher-rated springs.
35. Completely upgraded the original 3,500lb axles by installing (in Hohenwald) a set of new Dexter 5200ib Nev-R-Lube axles with self-adjusting 12” brakes (vs. original 10”)
36. R/R’d the OEM corner mounted 22″ flat screen with a center mounted 24″ LED flat screen with DVD player. The 4-speaker Furrion sound system also plays DVDs and can stream music via bluetooth connection to mobile devices.
Since 2024, Oliver has made the 5200lb axle its OEM for new LEII rigs. Casablanca’s upgraded running gear (springs, brakes, and axles) gives a slightly higher ground clearance than OEM, while providing a more robust suspension to safely and confidently navigate forest roads.
Under normal spring to fall camping outings, our battery bank SOC will typically drop overnight from 100% down to 75 – 80% depending on how cold (as the heater fan draws north of 10 Amps while on). The 340-Watt solar panels will fully charge the batteries by noon or 1pm in clear sky conditions – a perfect match for us.
We have put a lot of thought, design work, and labor of love into Casablanca, not to mention all the wonderful adventures and memories we’ve created. However, if there are folks out there interested in our style of boondocking/distributed camping on public lands or those that prefer “glamping” at an established RV resort, this is the rig that will do both very well.
PRICE REDUCTION: We’re now asking $65,500/OBO. Additional pictures are available on request.
